D.L. Ryder began her writing journey penning screenplays in Los Angeles at the age of 23. Encouraged by an offer to option her first screenplay and industry professional praise, she continued writing in this medium for another 15 years. In 2003, she was a quarterfinalist in the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences’ screenplay competition, the Nicholl Fellowship, founded by Don and Gee Nicholl.
Over the years, she has continued writing essays, short stories, and novellas. The 5ifth Cycle is her first completed novel.
Though she lived for a number of years in Los Angeles and Sacramento, she has always managed to find her way back home to the Central Coast in Monterey County, California where she grew up. She currently owns a web and graphic design business and is working on her next novel.
